March Favorites

One more day and March is officially over. It went by so quickly!! Here are the products I've been using and loving for the past month. :)

MARCH FAVORITES!
FACE

L'OREAL UV PERFECT Long-lasting UV Protector 30 ml (Price: P545)

This was included in my March BDJ Box! I didn't get it for P545 so I'm really really happy. :)

This is a tinted sunblock! I like how it evens out my skin tone and it can be a good replacement for any of your tinted moisturizer, BB cream, or foundation! You can use it on its own or use it in combination with your other make-up products.

It does not feel sticky on the face and it lasts for a long time (12 hours). No problem reapplying it within the day, for it is tinted. It blends really well with your other make-up products. :)

This is perfect for summer most especially if you're planning to go to the beach! No need to bring with you tons of product because this can be your sunblock and makeup base in one. :)

L'OREAL UV PERFECT BB Max Sample Size

The BB cream comes in a sample size tube. It's original size is 30 ml and sells for P595. :)

I use this BB cream after applying moisturizer and sunblock. I squeeze a pea-size amount on my ring finger and put 5 small dots on my face (both cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin). It spreads easily on the face and it blends well on my skin tone. A small amount goes a long way. :)

It feels light on the skin and does not feel sticky during the day. Most BB cream I've used have a grayish effect but this one doesn't. :)

I love this BB cream! I might purchase the real thing! :)

MAKE-UP:

MAYBELLINE The Falsies Mascara Waterproof
(Price: P429)

I love this mascara!! It does not clump and it gives this very nice falsies effect. Hence, the name. :)

I use my eyelash curler (I need to practice using this properly. Hahahaha!) and apply 2-3 coats of mascara! And voila, great looking lashes!!

It's easy to wash the mascara off. Just use your ordinary facial wash and no more. :)

I like this better than the cat eyes. Will definitely buy this again and again. :)

NYX XTREME LIP CREAM
in Pinky Nude (Price: P280)

I love this color! It's perfect for this season! It gives your lips a pop of color.

It can be applied easily on your lips and the color stays for a long time.

This shade can work well with most lip gloss. :)

BODY

LUSH Ocean Salt 250 g
(Price: P995)

Sorry how messy it looks like. I've been using it really often this month!

It comes in a black tub which you twist to open and close. It has sea salt which is quite good for exfoliation of the face and body. It smells like lime and quite citrus-y. :)

I tried using it as a body scrub and I really really like it! I apply it on clean, dry skin and scrub it gently (focusing on problem spots). When you wash it off, your skin feels so smooth and clean.

When you use it on the face, you  have to be extra careful because the salt might go to your eyes and it's quite painful and it will sting. I'm telling you! If you have sensitive skin, this might cause a reaction.

I love this scrub and will buy more in the future!!

Bath & Body Works
Juniper Breeze Body Cream 226 g (Price: ?)

After you exfoliate or shower, you need to moisturize!!

This was given to me last Christmas. I just fell in love with this!! It smells really really good!

I like how the packaging looks like! It's cool in the eyes and I like its simplicity.

The body cream comes in mint green color. It smells fruity and minty! The scent stays on your skin for hours!

It doesn't feel sticky even on a humid weather! It gives a cool sensation after using it.

Love love love this!! :)

100% Natural Cleansing Bar Review

Are you looking for an everyday soap that is cheap, moisturizing, and safe for the skin? Then this soap is perfect for you!!

As promised, I'll be doing a review of the soap I brought from Human Heart Nature. :) Like what I said in my previous post, this is my all-time-favorite-everyday soap!!

100% Natural Cleansing Bar 120 g (Price: P59.75)

I like how the packaging looks like. It's simple yet very appealing. In front, it mentions how this soap has no harmful chemicals, all natural, and fragrance free.

Even on the side, it says it has no EDTA, BHT, parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances which means this is something good for our skin!!

At the back, it says:
Earth and skin friendly, our 100% natural cleansing bar harnesses nature's goodness so that you enjoy a clean that's oure, gentle, and non-drying on your skin.

Ingredients
Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, aqua, sodium hydroxide, sodium lactate (sugar-cane derived), sodium gluconate (sugarcane-derived), coco glucoside (coconut-derived), glyceryl oleate (coconut-derived), stearic acid, decyl glucoside (coconut-derived)

This is how the soap looks like. It comes in an off-white bar with the logo engraved on the soap. It has no scent (as mentioned in the packaging). :)

Surprisingly, it lathers really well on wet skin. It leaves your skin feeling clean, soft, and smooth. I've noticed I rarely have dry elbows since I started using it. That's good news! It's moisturizing and you don't need to worry about dry spots on your skin. This is great for everyday use and perfect for hot summer days! :)

But don't forget to slather lotion. You still have to moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize! :)

Definitely and absolutely will repurchase this!! :)

The Body Shop Haul

I'm proud to say, I'm a Body Shop girl. I've been loving and using their products since forever! My eyes are glued onto their SALE sign, in huge white and red. And those 4 letters make me one to have a quick peek on what's in store for me.

I love everything about The Body Shop. They have amazing bath products from  shower gels, lotion, body butter, and skincare products! They give amazing discounts you really have to watch out and wait for. :)

Since they were on sale last March 15, we went on a visit and bought these amazing products. :)

1. Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream For all skin types 50 ml (Price: P750)

Product Description:
With rich wheat germ oil to replenish and revitalize skin while you snooze. A rich, nourishing cream that helps replenish antioxidant and moisture levels overnight, when the skin is at its most receptive. It leaves skin feeling soft and smooth (Source: The Body Shop).

My Thoughts:
Since it was on sale, I got it for P600. :) I started using it last week and I love how it feels on my skin. It's quite rich and creamy compared to the other moisturizer I was previously using. My skin feels so much better and nourished. :)

2. Vitamin E Lip Care SPF 15 (Price: 350)

Product Description:
Loaded with both vitamin E and vanilla flavor. Slip it on under your lipstick or wear it alone to protect your pout (Source: The Body Shop).

My Thoughts:
From P350, it only costs me P195. :) I haven't tried it yet. I keep it in my make-up kit as a spare lip balm just in case. :)

3. Vitamin C Skin Boost 30 ml (Price: P1450)

Product Description:
BEST IF YOU WANT TO: Create instant smoothing radiance with a silky smooth finish. It's an ideal skin pick-me-up to enhance your glow and our favorite Vitamin C product!

BEST FOR: Dull skin

How it works:
  • Contains Amazonian camu camu berry, which is known to have one of the highest contents of vitamin C in nature. Antioxidant vitamin C brightens skin, encourages collagen production, improves elasticity, and works along with skin-softening vitamin E to protect skin from environmental aggressors.
  • Community Trade Brazil nut oil moisturizes and softens skin (Source: The Body Shop).
My Thoughts:
It was only P1015 when I purchased it. I'm excited to use this but I'm currently trying out a new skincare routine. Might include this soon in my morning skincare routine. :)

Human Heart Nature Haul

Human Heart Nature/Human Nature is one of my most beloved Filipino brand! They have different products which cater to our different needs: pet care, home care, mineral make-up, face and lip care, hair care, soap, body care, baby care, kids care, men's care, protective care, and other merchandise.

They promise to give high quality products using organic materials. They are pro-poor, pro-Philippines, and pro-environment. :)

"Human Nature is, above all, a passionate social enterprise. We are driven by love for the Philippines, the poor, and the environment and loving our families as we provide personal care products that feel as good on your skin as they do in your heart."

1. Nourishing Facial Wash Tomato Extract for Normal or Sensitive Skin
200 ml (Price: P189.75)

Product Description:

100% Natural | For NORMAL or SENSITIVE SKIN
Even the most beautiful and fragile face needs to be nourished! Because everyday, we expose ourselves to oxidative stresses and free radicals, our skin becomes prone to damages. Preserve your healthy skin condition and give your skin the proper care to fight the dangers of everyday free radicals. Nurture it with the goodness of tomato extract, from our all-new Nourishing Facial Wash. It’s one of the most powerful antioxidants that soothes and helps repair skin leaving it unbelievably smooth, soft and healthy – inside and out (Source: Human Heart Nature).

My thoughts:
I haven't tried this one yet. I tried the toner from the same range and I like it. Hope this one does not fail me or it does what it says on the product description. :)

2. Natural Moisturizing Conditioner Lush Vanilla 500 ml (Price: P299.75)
Product Description:
For truly beautiful hair that's touchably soft and healthy, sometimes shampoo just isn't enough. We’re here to help you get soft, smooth, sleek hair with our Natural Moisturizing Conditioner. It's made with avocado oil with Omega-3, one of nature's most intense moisturizers, seaweed extract to restore elasticity, and organic virgin coconut oil for a healthy shine… without the chemicals!

Let your hair down knowing that only the good touches your tresses! Our conditioners contain nature’s best moisturizers – none of those harmful chemicals like silicones that do more harm than good to your hair (Source: Human Heart Nature)
My Thoughts:
Same as the facial wash, I haven't tried this one yet. I was just curious of their hair care products and decided to purchase another conditioner. Yes, I have another hair product. I'm planning to pair this up with my Gugo shampoo. Let's see how it goes soon. :)

3. 100% Natural Cleansing Bar 120 g (Price: P59.75)
Product Description:
Why go for soaps that leave chemical traces on your skin and the environment? Choose only the good!  Our 100% Natural Cleansing Bar harnesses nature’s goodness to wash away the day’s dirt and grime while leaving your skin feeling cleanfresh and moisturized. And because it’s  fragrance-free, your skin is left clean and clear from all synthetic irritants found in chemical soaps.

Our cleansing bar is cold-processed, which means that it takes more time to make than your usual chemical soaps, which are hot-processed. Hot-processing removes the naturally hydrating glycerin in soap, which is often replaced afterward with synthetic fillers and harmful additives that leave the skin dry and dull after bathing. Cold-processing, on the other hand, produces high-quality soap that retains beneficial natural glycerin which keeps skin soft and hydrated. As a bonus, cold-processing consumes less energy and produces less waste - so it's not only skin-friendly, but eco-friendly as well!

Do the earth and your skin a favor! Each time you use our cleansing bar, you help make our environment a little greener and your skin a lot cleaner!

Did you know: It took us more than two years to develop this soap especially for you because we wanted to make it 100% natural without the EDTA and BHT commonly found in most soaps, while still making it affordable for you and your family. EDTA and BHT are chemical agents that prevent discoloration. According to the Cosmetic Toxin Data, both ingredients can irritate the eyes and skin. EDTA, in particular, is also known as a penetration enhancer as it makes the skin absorb more chemicals, increasing the amount of toxins in our bloodstream (Source: Human Heart Nature)

My Thoughts:
I've tried it and I love it!! I'll do a review on this because this as my all-time-favorite-everyday-soap!! :)

Products I Regret Buying

Every time we go through the Dept Store, Watson's, or any beauty store, we are always on the look out for products that might look great on us, can help with our skin and hair issues, or a cheaper alternative.

You're excited to go home and try these products out. But when you try it out, FAIL
http://battlecryofafluffygirl.blogspot.com/

That's how I look like when I'm disappointed. Hahaha!

Here are 2 products I regret buying and I'll explain why.

1. Mondes Professional Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Masque
250 ml (Price: P109)

I heard a lot about Moroccan Argan Oil and its benefits. It has anti-oxidant properties which can help keep skin youthful and healthy. It can be used for the hair and the skin. Many companies have used Moroccan Argan Oil in their products such as in their deep conditioner, scalp treatment, lotion, and many more.

When I purchased this hair masque, I was thinking of the benefits of the Moroccan Argan Oil and what it can do for my hair. It's quite cheap for a hair masque and so I purchased it.

At the back, it tells you how to use it and the ingredients of the product.

How to Use: Shampoo hair and towel dry. Apply 2 oz.-4 oz. directly to hair. Leave on for 10 minutes (heat optional). Rinse thoroughly with water. Style as usual.

Ingredients: Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Polyquaternium 7, Amodimethicone (and) Steammonium Chloride (and) Laureth-3, Behentrimonium Chloride, Sodium Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, Argan (Argania spinosa) Oil, Lactose (and) Cellulos (and) Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (and) Jojoba Esters (and) C.I 777491 (and) Tocopherol Acetate (and) Ascorbyl Palmitate, Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) Butter, Dimethicone, EDTA, Citric Acid, Fragrance, and Methylchloroisothiazolinone (and) Methyllisothiazolinone.

When you open it, it has an off-white color with red granules. It has a very overwhelming scent which you often smell when you are in a salon. It means this product has so much chemicals in it. :(

I tried this product 2-3 times already. I really really really hate it. The scent is so overwhelming it makes me dizzy. The scent stays on your hair for a very long time. The same feeling when you get your hair treated or colored.

When you massage it onto your hair, some of your hair keeps on falling off. This product contributes to hair fall. When your hair dries out after you shower, it feels so dry and worse than ever.

I don't want to use it again and might as well throw it out. :(

2. L'OREAL Shine Caresse 702 Juliette (Price: P595)

This is included in my March BDJ Box

On the box it says:
"Dazzling shine, fresh moisture, light-weight lip color.

The first lip color to fuse with your lips: rich refined color yet a barely-there lip sensation.

Lips feel cocooned in a fresh, dewy sensation.

The modern way to play your lip color."

It comes in a gold packaging with a transparent side to see the color  of the lip product. You twist to open it. It has a feather-shaped foam applicator to help even out the color on your lips.

It has a red-orange shade. It has a different texture compared to most lipstick and lip gloss products. It's like a mixture of both.

When I applied it on my lips, I don't like how it tastes. Honestly, I'm a fan of great-tasting lip products. If it smells and tastes good, I love it!! But this one, it tastes like expired berries or something similar to that. Or tastes like perfume!

I applied too much of it on my lips and I turned into a vampire. I tried removing it with tissue but it took awhile to come off. This product is difficult to even out on your lips and has a weird texture.

I'll just keep it in my spare make-up kit and let see if I can still use it during special occasions (halloween! Hahahaha).

Before buying products, we should always do our research: ask for advice from sisters and friends, search the internet, read beauty blogs, read the list of ingredients, do swatches, know your skin and hair type, allergies, etc.

Know what you want and need. :)

Everyday Evening Skincare Routine

An evening skincare routine should be given utmost importance. Our skin rebuilds and repairs as we sleep. It is important that we keep our skin fresh and hydrated to help in the rebuilding and repairing process. :)

Keep in mind the following:
1. Cleanser
2. Toner
3. Moisturizer
4. Treatment

I'll share with you my daily evening skincare routine. Take note that these products are fitted for my skin type and most of these products might not be suited for everyone. :)

1. Cleanser
The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Foam aloe (P265)

As soon as I arrive home from work, I immediately wash my face with this facial wash. I want all the dirt and make-up off my face since I've been wearing them the whole day. :(

I want to keep my face clean and fresh after a long day at work. It helps brighten my mood and makes me feel relaxed.

2. Toner
Human Heart Nature Nourishing Face Toner Tomato Extract for Normal or Sensitive Skin
100 ml (Price: P89.75)

Your face is not entirely clean yet!! There are residue left on your face that you still have to remove. One way to gently remove them is by using a toner. I use a toner not to help balance the ph level of my skin but instead, I use it for removing excess make-up. :)

I shake the bottle first and dampen the cotton pad. I sweep it across my face and you'll see how much dirt are still left on your face.

This product may sting from time to time. Just be careful on how you use and apply it. :)

Before

After

3. Moisturizer
Human Heart Nature 100% Natural Moisturizing Night Cream with Plant Collagen 50 ml (Price: P149.75)

On a perfectly cleansed face, apply a pea-sized amount and spread it all over face. It keeps my skin supple and moisturize, however, it's not as moisturizing. :( I'm looking for a night cream that is hydrating and can help solve some of my problem areas.

I've started using a new night cream and will update on you soon. :)

Btw, remember to dab on lip balm over your lips before you sleep. :)

4. Treatment
The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream 15 ml (P1000+)

I get a small amount and rub it between my ring finger. I gently dab it under my eye area.

I want to use a new eye cream because this is not effective at all. I've been using this for a year now and I haven't seen any results yet. :(

I need an eye cream to help reduce dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles. Any recommendations?

Make your evening skincare routine a habit. :) I've incorporated new products to my routine. I'll let you know my thoughts really soon. :)

Everyday Morning Skincare Routine

It is very important to have a morning skincare routine. Before investing on products to include in your routine, one should understand their skin type and skin needs. Identify if your skin is: dry, oily, or combination/normal. You should be the expert of your own skin. :)

After assessing one's skin type and needs, we should take note of the following:
  1. Cleanse
  2. Moisturize
  3. Prevent
  4. Repair
I'll share with you my daily morning skincare routine. Take note that these products are fitted for my skin type and most of these products might not be suited for everyone. :)

1. Cleanse
The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Foam aloe (P265)

After I shower, I use this to gently remove the impurities accumulated overnight. This helps to prepare my skin for products I will apply during the day.

I tried following the suggestions of beauty blogs that we should only wash our face once a day, which is during the night. I noticed that it does help maintain the moisture on my face but then, since I started applying sunblock on my face, it became too oily. :( But when I started washing it every morning, my face was less oily than before. :)

I recommend quickly washing your face than taking time to clean it. Make sure to clean your face well the night before. :)

2. Moisturize
The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream 50 ml (Price: P750)

I dry myself up and immediately apply my moisturizer. It's best if you pat the products on your face rather than applying it in a circular motion.

This feels light on the skin and helps control extra sebum and shine. You don't have to worry about being oily within the day. This is great for the summer!!

3. Prevent
Nivea Daily Face Fluid SPF 30+ PA++ 30 ml (Price: P224.75)

After the moisturizer, I apply the sunblock. This helps prevents UVA and UVB rays from penetrating my skin. It's also an anti-aging agent to avoid wrinkles and sunspots. It's a great way to prevent future problems from occurring while you age.

4. Repair
Clinique All About Eyes 7 ml (Price: ?)

I dip my ring finger onto the product and gently pat it under my eye area. It reduces circles and puffs. It's a preventive measure for wrinkles, dark circles  and puffiness.

Make your morning skincare routine a habit. :) I've incorporated new products to my routine. I'll let you know my thoughts really soon. :)
