May Favorites

MAY flew by so fast, today is the last day of May. It means...it is time for my May favorites!!! :) Here are the products I've been using and loving for the past month!! :)

MAKE-UP and TOOLS:

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum (Price: P525)

People on YouTube and different blogs online have been raving about Revlon's Lip Butter. I love their color selection and the packaging as well. The cover almost reflects the color of the product and has a clear glass cover on top to see the actual shade.

It has a very mild scent and taste which you will barely notice! :) It glides smoothly on your lips and gives amazing color payoff. It is very hydrating  no need to put on lip balm. Sugar Plum has the same shade as my lips, only better. :)

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (Price: P429)

This was part of my March favorites. This mascara has a nice wand which helps curl up my lashes. The formula is not too wet nor too dry. The consistency fits me well and it rarely clumps. :)

If you curl your eyelashes well and use this mascara, it gives that falsies effect!! Hence, the name. :)

NYX Powder Blush in PB07 Natural (Price: P280)

This has been my blush for the whole month. I like how pale it is and how it really looks natural on your cheeks. It's as if, you are wearing no blush at all! It does not have any shimmer and really looks natural. It gives you that glowing effect! :)

Charm Powder and Angled Brushes (comes in a set)

The brush set looks so cuuute!! I like that it comes in a pink and black color. The bristles are so soft it does not make my face itch at all! It's handy and can fit perfectly in my make-up kit. I like how chubby the powder brush is. I use it for applying my setting powder and my blush. Dual purpose. :) I use the angled brush with my eyebrow cake powder to fill in my brows.

SKINCARE:

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost (Price: P1450)

I'm in love with the smell of this product! It smells like Vitamin C! I use this over my moisturizer and it gives my skin a smooth finish. It's a great make-up base as it helps smooth-en out my BB cream to create an even finish. But I'm not sure if it does anything to help improve my skin. I'm still in the process of discovering this product. :)

BODY:

The Body Shop Pomegranate Shower Gel (Price: ?)

I have a love and hate relationship with this product. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. Weird. It smells exactly like pomegranate: sour. I love most of the shower gel from TBS and so I learned to love this.

FRAGRANCE:

The Body Shop White Gardenia Body Mist (Price: P600+?)

I've been using this for the whole month. It looks heavy and made out of glass, but not really. It's very light for its size. I bring this everywhere I go and helps me feel fresh. It has a floral scent which most of you would like. :) The scent does not stay as long since it's just a mist but, whatevs. I like it.

NAIL POLISH:

San San Nail Polish in Sea Green (Price: P37)

I'm just in love with the color!! It is perfect for summer and brightens up your hands and feet. If I stare at them, it relaxes me. That's the reason why I love this oh so much. I like to purchase more San San Nail Polishes for they have amazing colors to choose from.

Surprisingly Good Products

1. Foot Treats Foot Spray 118 ml (Price: P99)
If you have dry feet (such as myself), this is VERY helpful! I promise you!!! Just a few sprays and it instantly moisturizes your feet without even touching it or applying sticky lotion. It absorbs easily by the skin and it helps freshen it. Yes to clean, soft, fresh smelling feet!!

2. Body Recipe Lemongrass Foot Scrub 60 ml (Price: P65)
Do you find professionally done foot scrub expensive? Then this might be the thing for you!!

Product Description:
  • Apricot kernel exfoliates dead skin cells and helps remove skin calluses
  • Peppermint Oil invigorates skin while plant extracts and Vitamin E keep feet moisturized
  • Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth

It comes in a green gel-like consistency with non-abrasive granules. It smells like real lemongrass! :)

Squeeze out a coin-sized amount on your palm and gently massage it onto your feet until it dries out. Rinse, dry, and moisturize. :)

It helps soften my feet and brightens it quite a bit. It's very affordable and you can use it on a daily basis. Thumbs up for this!! DIY foot spa at home for a very low price of P65. Cool huh? :)

3. San San Nail Polish 12 ml (Price: P37)
San San Nail Polish is affordable and has a broad range of colors to choose from. But not all of their nail polish have the same consistency. I'm not sure if this is an isolated case. But so far, I love their color selection, packaging and price. :) Try their Sea Green Nail Polish. My current favorite!!

4. Driclor (Price: P800+?)
This has changed my life tremendously! I used to have hyperhidrosis (over sweating) of my right armpit when I was in my teenage years. I don't know why just the right pit. Maybe, that part of my body was too active then? Not sure.

I was very conscious of what I do, wear, and how I interact with others because of this condition. I felt self-conscious, had low self-esteem, and just felt worried all the time. I did my research and saw this product on the internet. Tried it and it changed my life. I'm not kidding on this, but it helped me be confident and worry free.

To those who are not familiar with this product. Driclor contains Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate. It is an antiperspirant and treats excessive perspiration of the underarms, the hands, and feet. There are precautionary measures on how to use it. It is VERY VERY important to read the instructions. It has side-effects such as itchiness, irritation or redness. Use it sparingly and cautiously.
(For more information about Driclor).

It treated my over sweating. :) It helped reduce sweat from both my hands and feet as well. It's a great product. Go try it out. :)

San San Nail Polish in Tea Rose

I have this obsession with nail polishes recently and I've been painting my nails like crazy on a weekly basis since last month! :)

Some beauty gurus on YouTube have been raving about Essie, OPI, China Glaze and Orly as one of the best nail polish brands in the US. They are great but quite pricey. They are at the P300+ mark. But then I read a blog featuring San San Nail Polish and got curious about it. Bought two. Loved it since then.
San San Nail Polish Tea Rose 12 ml (Price: P37)

It comes in a very nice packaging. It's compact and very light weight. The color is a subtle glittery baby pink (though it does not show well in the picture).

It applies easily on the nails. It works well with a top and bottom coat. It lasted for a week with minimal chip-offs. But it depends on what you do with your hands. :)

I love this nail polish!! :) It's affordable and great for those who frequently paint their nails. I'll try the other shades and let me know if you want me to do a feature of my nail polish collection. :) San San Nail Polish can be purchased at selected HBC stores. :)

DIY Scrubs

I love DIY beauty products. Not only are they cheap and available at home, but also easy to do! No harmful chemicals that can irritate your skin. :)

Green Tea: has an extremely high antioxidant content with anti-aging effects. When applied to the skin, it repairs scar tissue and prevents wrinkles, blemishes and other impurities. It also helps with warts, psoriasis, acne, and rosacea. (Source: Glow Kitchen)

Ingredients:

1 used/unused tea bag
1 tsp of facial wash

I use this scrub once a week to help reduce dark spots on my face caused by overexposure to the sun. This scrub can be used on the body, feet, and hands as well. :)
Procedure:
1. Remove tea bag contents in a clean bowl.
2. Add a teaspoon of your favorite cleanser.
3. Mix them well to form a paste.
4. Gently scrub on your face and leave it on for 5 minutes. Don't leave it on for too long because it might cause discoloration.
5. Rinse off the scrub and pat your face dry. Apply moisturizer afterwards.

Coffee: Coffee scrub treats redness, inflammation, gets rid of cellulite, mends broken skin, soothes irritation, revitalizes cells, improves circulation, and combats the occurrence of varicose veins (Source: Benefits of Coffee Scrub)

Ingredients:
1 tbsp ground coffee
1 tbsp Muscovado sugar (or brown sugar)
1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

This can be used on a weekly basis. I use this mainly as a body scrub. The scent can be quite overwhelming and it can really wake you up most especially if you use it in the morning. :)
Procedure:
1. Pour a spoonful of ground coffee in a clean bowl.
2. Add the muscovado sugar and olive oil.
3. Mix well until it forms a paste.
4. Scrub on dry troubled areas (elbows, knees, etc).
5. Rinse off with water and pat dry.

These DIY scrubs are so easy and convenient you can do it on your own. :)

Can't Live Without Products

There are products we can't live without! That's the reality! Anxiety builds as soon as we find out a certain item is unavailable at your house or bag, misplaced somewhere, or EMPTY. Oh no. Doomed.
Taken from: http://spamediagroupblog.wordpress.com/2012/03/14/facebooks-new-timeline-how-will-it-affect-your-spas-marketing-efforts/
We panic and rush to the nearest store to buy one! Ahhh, yes. We feel a sigh of relief once we get a hold of them. That's what you call CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT PRODUCTS. Here's mine. :)

1. Shampoo and Conditioner

I really need a very good shampoo and conditioner duo. A shower gives great pleasure to me most especially if I wash my hair after a long tiring day. It helps me feel fresh and clean.

I stopped using this duo and opted to use another pair just to shift things around. :)

2. Soap

Each time I go to the grocery store, I always buy an extra soap just in case. I need a good soap that will help keep my skin moisturized and clean.

I am using Body Recipes' Milk+Honey, Oatmeal & Vitamin E Body Soap. :)

3. Facial Wash

You can't use an ordinary soap to wash your face. That's a big no-no for me. Soap is not suited for the face because the skin on the face is different from the body. Ordinary soap can irritate your face and can strip off its natural oil that can lead to dryness.

I need a good facial wash to help wash off the residue on my face. These residues may be from the make-up, dirt, or air pollution. We need to wash it all off to prevent breakouts.

I am currently using the HHN Nourishing Facial Wash Tomato Extract. :)

4. Deodorant

Almost all of us use a deodorant. We use it everyday to prevent us from extra sweating and to keep our underarm smelling fresh the whole day. If I don't have it on, I'd panic and would immediately rush to buy one.

I use the NIVEA extra whitening 48h deo. My favorite! :)

5. Toothbrush and Toothpaste

Who doesn't own a pair? We ALL need it. Period. Enough said.

6. Lip Balm
I have a thing for dry lips and this serves as a "security blanket" wherever I am. And I panic if I don't have one. Literally. Any brand and kind would do as long as its in my bag.

7. Wet Wipes

Last but not the least. Wet wipes! I want to limit my list to 5 but then I just have to add the lip balm and THIS. It's a multi-purpose product: It can clean your face, body, and under there. And even during toilet  emergencies too. You know what I mean. ;) It's a wonderful product I always bring with me each time I go out or travel! It keeps me fresh, clean, and sanitized! I just love it!! :) I always use the Giggles Baby Wipes Unscented. It's my go-to wipes. :)
